House Clearance Armitage

If a home in Armitage needs emptying, SRW Services can take the whole job off your hands. We offer house clearance Armitage families can count on, whether the property is an older terraced cottage or a 1990s family house, and we leave it clear and ready for whatever comes next.

Efficient

Before the day, we look at access, parking and how much there is to shift, then plan the work so each part of the property is cleared in a sensible order.

Courteous

We treat every home with respect, especially after a bereavement, when so many belongings carry memories. Nothing leaves the house unless you have chosen to part with it.

Trustworthy

Our staff are fully qualified, the business is fully insured, and as licensed waste carriers we handle everything we take away within the law. Every job we do is guaranteed.

Affordable

A free home visit lets us see the job before we quote, so you know where you stand before any work begins.

About SRW Services

SRW Services is a family run house clearance business, established in 1999. We take on jobs of any size, from a single wardrobe to an entire property, and every clearance is planned around the home and the people involved.

Our base on Bloxwich Road North in Willenhall is about 12 miles from Armitage, so the village and the countryside around it are well within reach for our vans. Armitage sits on the Trent and Mersey Canal, south of Rugeley and north of Lichfield, and together with Handsacre it forms the civil parish of Armitage with Handsacre.

Older Terraces and Newer Family Homes in Armitage

Armitage is a long village with no clear centre. Building along New Road joined it to Handsacre, and the A513 is the main route through. We check access for each address rather than assuming one approach suits every street.

Much of the village grew in the second half of the 20th century, and more than 400 homes went up in the 1990s around Shropshire Brook Road and Lichfield Road in Handsacre. A newer family house like these may have a loft, garage and garden to clear as well as the rooms.

The older pockets need a gentler hand. Parts of Hood Lane, Pike Lane and New Road date from before 1900, and the neighbourhood plan names older terraces such as Jubilee Terrace and Targate Terrace on New Road as locally important buildings. In homes like these, stairs and doorways can be narrower and furniture has to be turned and carried with care. Several of the parish’s listed homes are timber framed and some are thatched, so we work slowly around beams, old plaster and worn floors.

Homes towards the northern edge sit near the Trent and Mersey Canal, a stretch of which is a conservation area, and we tidy and sweep up once the work is done.

What Happens on Clearance Day in Armitage

A team of two or three arrives on the agreed day, with extra people for a larger property. Before anything is lifted, we walk through the rooms with you and sort each item into what you keep, what can be donated, what can be recycled and what has to be disposed of.

Suitable furniture and household goods go to charity, and we recycle as much as possible so that less ends up in landfill. Heavy pieces, old fridges and other appliances are handled by the team, so nobody in the family has to lift a thing. Whatever remains goes to licensed or registered waste transfer stations.

When the last load is on the van, we tidy and sweep through so nothing is left behind.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on how busy the diary is. When there is a gap, a same day visit is sometimes possible, although we cannot promise one, and we will suggest the earliest slot we can fit in. If the house is on the A513, let us know whether there is a drive or a side road where a van can stop safely.

Yes. Armitage and Handsacre were once separate villages and now share one parish, so a property at either end is covered. We can also clear homes in nearby places such as Brereton and Ravenhill on the Rugeley side, Longdon to the south, and Mavesyn Ridware across the River Trent at High Bridge.

Yes. Moving on from a larger family house usually means parting with furniture and belongings that have no room in the next place. We can clear just those items, either before you move so the house can go on the market or after you have taken everything you want.

Someone needs to decide what stays and what goes, but it does not have to be you. A relative, or someone dealing with the estate on your behalf, can walk through the property with the team instead, and in a listed or thatched cottage they can point out anything that has to stay in place. Tell us who that will be when you first get in touch.

Yes. If a tenant in Armitage or Handsacre leaves furniture, belongings or rubbish behind, we can empty the property, outbuildings included, so it is ready for the next tenant. Old appliances, mattresses and bulky furniture are all part of the job.

Our 3 Simple Steps to a Clearance:

Arranging a clearance in Armitage comes down to three straightforward steps, and you can ask us questions at any point along the way.

Get a quote

Tell us the address, which rooms or outbuildings are involved and roughly how much needs to go. We then look at the job properly and give you a clear quote to think over.

Set a date

When you are ready to go ahead, we agree a day with you or the family as the diary allows. If a sale completion or a new tenancy sets a deadline, let us know and we will plan around it as far as we can.

We clear the property

When the day arrives, we clear what has been agreed while you stay and watch or get on with your own plans, then hand the property back to you once the work is finished.

How Can We Help You?

Our house clearance service handles full and partial jobs anywhere in Armitage and Handsacre. For outbuildings and outside space there is garage clearance and garden clearance, and rubbish clearance takes bulky items and household waste on their own. We also offer flat clearance and office clearance.

Our bereavement property clearance supports families, executors and solicitors, and we help landlords, owners and estate agents get homes ready to let or sell.

We cover the wider district through our Lichfield house clearance service. That includes Kings Bromley, which borders the parish to the east, as well as Burntwood and Chasetown. To talk through your clearance, contact SRW Services.

Have had the pleasure of srw removal services several times over the last 10 years. Recommended by my parents I decided to give them a try after a competitive quote. Throughout it almost seemed like they treated my property like it was their own with due care and attention being made from one property to the other. More than happy to leave these guys a recommendation as I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again if needed.
