House Clearance Wollaston

Whether you are emptying a family home in Wollaston after a loss, getting a post war house off Kingsway or an older one near the High Street ready for sale, or reclaiming a crowded loft and garage, SRW Services can take the work off your hands. For house clearance Wollaston households can rely on, our friendly, careful team does all the heavy lifting.

Efficient

Every clearance is planned before the day, so the team arrives knowing the scope of the job. We usually send two or three people, who work steadily through the property room by room so nothing is missed.

Courteous

We work respectfully and with care, especially when a home holds a lifetime of belongings and memories. The team is patient with families facing difficult decisions and considerate towards the neighbours around the property.

Trustworthy

We are licensed waste carriers, so everything we take away is carried legally. The business is fully insured, and all of our work is guaranteed.

Affordable

A free home visit and quote let us see the property before anything is agreed. Unlike hiring a skip, there is no permit to arrange and no heavy carrying to do yourself.

About SRW Services

SRW Services is a family run house clearance business, established in 1999, with fully qualified staff and a straightforward way of working. Whatever needs clearing, we treat the property and its contents with the same care we would want for our own home.

Our base on Bloxwich Road North in Willenhall is about 11 miles from Wollaston, which lies roughly a mile west of Stourbridge town centre in the south west of Dudley borough. Wollaston was a separate settlement until the westward growth of Stourbridge joined the two, and today it is one of the town’s suburbs, with Amblecote on its border and Stourton just across the county line to the west, in South Staffordshire.

Clearing Wollaston's Older Streets and Post War Roads

Wollaston grew in stages, and each part brings something different to think about. The old village centred on the junction of High Street and Vicarage Road, and Dudley Council has designated the Wollaston Conservation Area to protect its older streetscape. Where a home sits on one of the older streets, we check access and whether a narrow entrance needs extra care.

Wollaston Hall stood in the village until 1926, and its site was redeveloped for housing in the 1930s. From the early 1950s, homes went up on the old Wollaston Farm land around the almost circular Kingsway and its side roads. Houses of these ages can hold decades of belongings, so we ask about lofts, sheds and garages at the outset rather than finding them on the day.

Bridgnorth Road, the A458, is the main road through Wollaston, with a few shops, pubs and restaurants along it. Loading on a main road takes more thought than on a quiet side road, so we agree where and when the van stops.

What Happens on Clearance Day in Wollaston

As each room is emptied, everything is sorted with you into four groups: things to keep, items to donate, materials to recycle and anything that has to be disposed of. If you are unsure about something, it can sit with the keep pile until you have decided. Suitable furniture and household goods go to charity, as much as possible is recycled, and the aim throughout is to keep waste out of landfill. Whatever cannot be reused or recycled goes to licensed or registered waste transfer stations.

Once the last load has left your Wollaston property, we tidy and sweep up, so every room is left clear for whatever comes next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get in touch as early as you can and mention any date you are working towards. When the diary allows, a same day visit is sometimes possible, though it can never be promised. Either way, you will get an honest answer about when someone can come out to Wollaston.

Yes. Fridges, freezers, washing machines and cookers are taken as part of a clearance, along with bulky items such as wardrobes, beds and dining tables. Mention them when you describe the job, particularly if an old fridge or cooker has ended up in the garage or shed of an older Wollaston home, so we can bring enough hands and plan how it will be moved.

It helps to look through drawers, paperwork and photographs first, especially in a Wollaston home that has been in the family since the 1950s or earlier, and put aside anything precious, such as documents, jewellery or keepsakes. Beyond that, there is no need to empty cupboards or bag anything up. Leave the rest in place and the team will handle it.

Yes. We work alongside families, executors and solicitors when a property is part of an estate, clear homes for owners and estate agents ahead of a sale, and help landlords get rentals ready for new tenants. Whether the agent or solicitor is in Stourbridge or further afield, tell us who needs to be kept informed and what timetable everyone is working to, so the clearance date can be planned with that in mind.

It is. Jobs of any size are welcome, be it one old armchair, the spare room in a 1950s house off Kingsway or a single shed. Small jobs are taken just as seriously as full houses, and clearing one room first can be a good way to make a start on a family home without committing to everything at once.

Our 3 Simple Steps to a Clearance:

Arranging a clearance in Wollaston comes down to three simple steps, and getting started takes nothing more than a conversation about the property.

Get a quote

Tell us about the property, which rooms need clearing and whether anything is stored outside. Once we have a clear picture of the job, you receive a quote and know where you stand.

Set a date

Agree a date for the clearance that suits you and anyone else involved, including relatives who would like to be there on the day. We confirm the arrangements in advance, so nobody is left guessing.

We clear the property

On the agreed date, the team arrives and clears the property, taking everything away with them. You are welcome to stay for as long as you like, and once we leave there is nothing more for you to organise.

How Can We Help You?

Our house clearance service covers full and partial clearances of houses, bungalows and apartments, and flat clearance takes account of stairs and shared hallways. We also offer garage clearance, garden clearance for green waste and cluttered sheds, and rubbish clearance for bulky items and general household waste. Businesses can arrange office clearance, and when someone has died, our bereavement and probate clearance service is handled with patience and care.

Wollaston is one of the places we cover for house clearance across Dudley, along with Stourbridge and its other suburbs, including Amblecote and Wordsley. When you are ready, get in touch to talk through your property.

Have had the pleasure of srw removal services several times over the last 10 years. Recommended by my parents I decided to give them a try after a competitive quote. Throughout it almost seemed like they treated my property like it was their own with due care and attention being made from one property to the other.
