SRW Services can clear homes in Stourbridge for families, executors, solicitors, landlords, estate agents and owners getting ready to sell. Whether it is a flat inside the Ring Road, a few rooms in an interwar house in Pedmore or a larger family home in Oldswinford, we offer house clearance Stourbridge residents can rely on, with one team handling everything.
Each clearance is planned in advance, so enough people and a suitable van arrive ready to work. Compared with a skip, there is no permit to arrange and no waiting for collection, and we carry everything out.
Clearing a loved one's home can be hard, so we treat every belonging with respect. We show neighbours the same consideration while the van is loaded.
We are licensed waste carriers and fully insured, and every clearance is carried out by qualified staff. All of our work is guaranteed.
A free home visit and a free quote come with every job, so you know what is involved before you decide.
SRW Services is a family run business, established in 1999. Our base on Bloxwich Road North in Willenhall is about 11 miles from Stourbridge, which sits on the south western edge of the West Midlands conurbation beside the River Stour. Stourbridge is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, and green belt land borders the town, with the Clent Hills to the south and south west. Lye lies about two miles to the east, and Wollaston about a mile west of the town centre. With the A451, the A458 and the A491 all meeting in the town, reaching a property on any side of Stourbridge is simple to plan.
The one way A491 Stourbridge Ring Road loops around the town centre, so for homes and flats inside or just off it we work out in advance where the van can stop and how far everything needs carrying. Dudley Council has made the High Street a conservation area, along with Wollaston, Church Road and Love Lane in Oldswinford, and two stretches of the Stourbridge Branch Canal at Amblecote and Canal Street. Older properties in these areas get extra care with original features, doorways and boundary walls while furniture is carried out.
Housing around Stourbridge was built up at different times. Pedmore grew between the wars. In Wollaston, the Wollaston Hall site was redeveloped for housing in the 1930s, and the Wollaston Farm land around Kingsway was built on from the early 1950s. On the east side, most of the private and council homes in Wollescote went up after the Second World War, while Amblecote, north of the town centre, gained large private estates such as Stourview and Stourvale from the 1960s onwards. Oldswinford, just south of the town centre, has been developed with upmarket private homes since the 1920s and still has many buildings from before 1900, so two clearances a few streets apart can be very different jobs.
On the day, we usually send a team of two or three, with more people for larger properties. Before anything is moved, we go through the home with you, or with whoever is acting for you, and agree what you are keeping, what can be donated, what can be recycled and what needs disposing of. Anything you want to hold on to is set aside so it does not go on the van.
Suitable items that you do not want to keep are donated to charity, and as much as possible of the rest is recycled, which keeps waste out of landfill. Whatever is left goes to licensed or registered waste transfer stations. Once the last load is on the van, we sweep through each room so nothing is left behind.
Our team covers the whole town and the places around it, including Lye, Norton, Oldswinford, Pedmore, Stambermill and Wollescote. Hagley, a Worcestershire village linked to Stourbridge by the A491, is close by too. If your property is there, or anywhere else on the edge of town, get in touch and we will confirm.
Give us the date the keys are due back when you first get in touch, so the clearance can be planned around it. Everything the tenant or family is not keeping is cleared and the home goes back empty. The same approach works for private lets anywhere in Stourbridge.
Yes. You do not need to travel back to Stourbridge for every stage. Beforehand, we agree with you how we get in, the date and anything that must be kept, and a solicitor, relative, neighbour or agent can let us in and be our contact on the day. If the house is in one of the conservation areas, such as Wollaston or Love Lane in Oldswinford, tell us about any original features you want protected, as you will not be there to point them out.
Yes. We take fridges and other appliances along with wardrobes, beds, sofas and other heavy pieces, so there is no separate collection to book. If the flat is up a flight of stairs, the team brings everything down. Because the Ring Road is one way, tell us which street the entrance is on so the van can approach from the right side.
They can. For an interwar house in Pedmore or an older family home in Oldswinford, the garden, shed, garage and loft can all go in the same clearance as the rooms, so there is nothing left to arrange afterwards. Mention every space you want cleared at the outset, so it can all be allowed for on the day.
Getting a Stourbridge property cleared takes three straightforward steps, and you are welcome to ask us questions at any point along the way.
Tell us where the property is, roughly what needs clearing and anything that affects access, such as stairs, a loft or limited parking outside. We then arrange a visit to look round before giving you a quote.
Agree a date with us that suits you and anyone else involved. If someone else holds the keys, tell us who they are and we will build the handover into the plan for the day.
On the agreed date, the team arrives with the van and loads everything that is not being kept. When the work is finished, the property is left clear for you to sell, let or hand back.
