Whether you need to clear a parent’s house in Brereton, a cottage by the canal or a garage that has filled up over the years, SRW Services can help. SRW Services offers house clearance Rugeley households can hand over in full, taking the whole job off your hands so you can get on with everything else.
We usually send a team of two or three people, with more for larger homes, and the team carries everything out so you do not have to.
A clearance can be an emotional day, so we sort belongings with you into keep, donate, recycle and dispose before anything leaves. Our team carries everything out, then tidies and sweeps up so the property is left clear.
We are licensed waste carriers, so your waste is handled properly once it leaves your door. SRW Services is fully insured, our staff are fully qualified and every job we take on is guaranteed.
Quotes are free, and we can visit the property at no cost before quoting. As an alternative to a skip, there is no permit to arrange, no waiting for collection and nothing for you to carry.
SRW Services is a family run house clearance business, established in 1999. Our base on Bloxwich Road North in Willenhall is about 12 miles from Rugeley, a market town on the north eastern edge of Cannock Chase beside the River Trent. Rugeley is part of Cannock Chase District, which is run from Cannock and also takes in Hednesford, and the town lies about 5 miles north east of Hednesford. The A460 is the main road across the Chase from Cannock, coming into Rugeley as Hednesford Road and running on past the Pear Tree Estate and close to Elmore Park, while the A51 links the town with Lichfield and Stafford. Whichever side of town your property is on, it is a straightforward drive for our team.
Rugeley’s town centre is one winding main street made up of Upper Brook Street, Lower Brook Street and Market Street, and much of it is pedestrianised. Clearing a flat above a shop there can mean planning for stairs and a carry to a van parked away from the door, unless there is access from the service areas behind the shops. On the southern edge of the centre, the Talbot Street and Lichfield Street area has 19th century terraces, villas and 1930s semis on a grid with parallel back lanes, which may give access from the rear. Around Sheep Fair, the narrow Bow Street and the tightly packed Victorian terraces of Lion Street call for careful loading and some patience with parking.
East of the centre, house gardens back onto the Trent and Mersey Canal along much of its length. On the 20th century estates to the west and south, including Burnt Hill, Newman Grove, Attlee Crescent and the large Pear Tree Estate begun in 1953, lofts and sheds can hold decades of belongings. Etching Hill backs onto Cannock Chase and is mostly detached houses, which tends to mean more rooms to work through.
On the day, the team walks through the property with you, or with whoever is looking after it, to confirm what stays. As things come out, we sort them together into four groups: keep, donate, recycle and dispose. Suitable furniture and household goods are donated to charity, and as much as possible is recycled so that waste is kept out of landfill. Whatever is left goes to licensed or registered waste transfer stations.
Lofts, garages and sheds can be cleared alongside the rooms, so nothing needs to be left behind. When the last load is out, we tidy up and sweep through each room so the property is left clear and ready for whatever comes next.
We can clear properties anywhere in the town and the areas around it, including Brereton, Brereton Cross, Breretonhill, Ravenhill, Etching Hill and Slitting Mill. Brereton is an old village along Main Road that grew with coal mining, and it mixes large houses with workers’ cottages. Slitting Mill is a small village on the outskirts. If your address is not on that list, send it over and we will confirm.
That depends on how busy we are at the time. The drive over from Willenhall is not a long one, so a same day visit to Rugeley is sometimes possible, but we would never promise one. If a completion date or the end of a notice period is coming up, it helps to say so early.
Yes. Many of the upper floors in use along the main street are offices or flats, and we clear offices as well as homes. That might be a whole floor of desks and filing cabinets or a single back room piled with old paperwork.
The executor or administrator of the estate can arrange it with us, or a family member or the solicitor dealing with the estate can do so on their behalf. If the family live away from Rugeley, one person can be at the property on the day to represent everyone, and we work with families, executors and solicitors throughout.
Bulky items and old furniture, appliances including fridges, garden waste and general household rubbish can all go, whether the home is a terrace on Lion Street or a semi south of Horsefair. Anything unusual can be checked when we come to see the property.
Arranging a clearance in Rugeley comes down to three straightforward steps, and you can ask questions at any point along the way.
Get in touch with the address, what needs clearing and any dates you are working to. We then arrange a time to see the property and give you a free quote.
Once you are happy with the quote, we agree a date with you, ideally one that suits any relatives who want to be there. We confirm everything beforehand so you know what to expect.
Our team carries everything out room by room, loads the van and takes it all away. You are welcome to stay for as much or as little of it as you like.
